A sneak peek

 We have been working very hard the last few weeks to make our calendar art. We looked at Hundertwasser's trees earlier in the year so this time we decided to look at Klimt's trees. We started with the foreground and created a curve which then we patterned. The tree was next and very, very tricky but we all got there in the end! We drew unusual house , added leaves then coloured the sky and tad-ah... we have our spectacular artworks! We hope you enjoy them.

Cross Country Superstars

We managed to get the Senior Cross Country run in between the rain today! We had two young ladies who did very well and came 2nd and 3rd in the Year 4 Girls race... they, and many others in the class are headed to the Interschool's Cross Country later in the term :-)

Our chicks are growing

Today we were lucky enough to have a hold of the chicks who are currently living in the Library. We saw quietly and let a chick sit on our hand and then put our other around around it so if felt safe. The feet were hot and we could feel their little claws. They are still covered in down so were fluffy but they are growing their wing feathers and are much taller than last week.

Spring is definitely on its way

Friday was Daffodil Day and here are the happy bunch from R22 who bought a flower or a sticker. The money raised goes to help cancer research so we can try to obliterate this terrible disease.

We remade the boxes

After we had made the nets for our boxes we swapped them with another group who then had to try and remake it to look like the original. We realised how careful we needed to be to make sure the lines were folded in the right place and that we had all of the tabs in the correct places. It was a lot of fun and we learnt a lot about 3d shapes.

Spring has sprung at BDS

We have been lucky enough to have 10 eggs arrive at Botany Downs. These 'living' eggs have started to hatch in their incubator and currently we have 6 hatched chicks and one fighting its way out of its egg. It has been really eggciting (get it) to watch the little eggs become real live chicks! Now we all want to be farmers :-)
